Description:

FedEx Trade Networks, Mississauga office has an immediate vacany for an "Air" Import Operations Specialist.  We are seeking a well organized/responsible individual who has the following qualifications:

 

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities - Receives and verifies documentation from origin and completes set up in Etrans if the origin of shipment is not FTN office•Tracks shipment constantly until it arrives at final destination on the steamship line or co-loader’s website•Monitors on CN or CP’s website as soon as the shipment arrives at entry port•Ensures that all milestones are entered immediately so that they are visible to the customer on GTD•Prepares manifests depending on if shipment is Full load container (FCL) or Less than Container Load (LCL) and available at port at the time of arrival•Ensures that all the relevant documents have been received from customer service•Completes Waybilling into AS400 customs systems if FTNC is the broker•Forwards the file to customs for rating/release•Obtains customer’s quote from SharePoint or/from Canada Pricing Department and logs in Operations file•Prepares customer billing on arrival at destination port for LCL or entry port for FCL•Checks for credit approval and receives Bill of Lading •Provides release to trucking company as shipment arrives at destination•Ensures customs release has been received from the Customs Department or the customer’s broker and follows up as necessary•Updates the customer service team to apprise them of customer status. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required•High School Diploma, CIFFA and/or CITT designation is required •Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Import Ops•Well versed with MS Office and mainframe applications•Excellent communication, organization, inter-personal, problem solving skills is a must•Ability to interact with a wide range of customers, carriers and brokers.

 

Hours of Work: 8:30AM to 5:00PM, Monday to Friday.
